Solved Windows update error 0x8007003

Hello, i new here so greetings to all!

I come because i getting an error after download and trying to install the latest windows update KB4598291 i already searched for similar users with my same problem and i found one and its basically the same problem but the solution its i think unique for that user only so if someone can help i will thanked a lot...

Edition: Windows 10 Pro
Versión: 20H2
Installed: ‎10/‎10/‎20
Compilation SO: 19042.746

Hello Jorgeapp, and welcome to Windows Questions.

Use Windows Update Troubleshooter.


  • Right-click on Start button and pick Settings
  • Go to Update & Security > Troubleshoot
  • Click on Windows Update and select Run the troubleshooter



Download Windows updates manually.


  • Go to the official Microsoft update catalog;
  • Enter a specific update code, for example, KB4481031
  • Select the correct version and click Download
  • Click on the link and Windows will update your computer



Resetting the Windows Update components can usually solve these types of issues.

I already run the Troubleshoot nothing detected and also already reset windows update...

Check system files for corruptions by executing bellow commands one at a time.

Sfc /Scannow

Dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

Temporary disable installed third-party antivirus software and firewall.

Check time and date settings, or perform a clean boot to check that installed third-party software is not interfering with the Windows Update service.

Yes please....

I already did all recommends up comments and:

Reset windwos update components
clean temporary files in windows
run chkdsk
run system file checker tool
scan the image for component store corruption
clean up superseded components
clean the registry
run troubleshoot

One thing I see - FreeBooter asked you to grab the KB installer and try to manually install. Did you do that? If so, was there an error associated with the standalone installed if it failed?

Well basically happens the same, do the install stuff apparently everything ok until start restarting stuck at 6% then do like 2 restart and them say "we cant install the updates reverting the changes"

i will desist and wait for the next big update and reinstall windows from zero.

Probably best. I'm already at version 19042.804 instead of 789, so there are more updates out there. maybe try ignoring that one update so others can proceed?
