I am trying to reset my Windows 10 PC using the cloud reset option. It's telling me I have to use the local download off of my PC.

I am running Windows version: 21H2 OS Build 19044.1165 if this helps.

I have run DISM tests and sfc/ scannow and all seems to be OK.

Anything else I can do before a clean install?

Richard

That's the only way? Come on. There must be a way to fix the cloud download.

According to this:

Microsoft notes that with this release, if the following optional features are installed the Reset this PC from the Cloud will not work:

  • EMS and SAC Toolset for Windows 10, IrDA infrared, Print Management Console, RAS Connection Manager Administration Kit (CMAK), RIP Listener, all RSAT tools, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Windows Fax and Scan, Windows Storage Management, Wireless Display, WMI SNMP Provider."

Got any of those installed?

What are the computer problems?
How come a reset using the cloud is required?
Why not perform other methods that can save files and reinstall windows?

This has never happened on my PC and trying to see what's going on with it. Curiosity.

So it's a trial and error windows reset using the cloud?
There are no computer problems?
Then why are you considering a clean install?

I used UUP Dump and downloaded Windows 21H2 19044.1200 (The Release Preview) and It built the .iso file for me and I installed it.
Now things are back to normal and I have my cloud download back and finally have a clean sfc/scannow and DISM says no errors.

Back to normal.

Thanks for all help.

If you can't answer the question, just say so. My reasons are not of your concern nor am I asking for suggestions. I just want to know if there is a fix for the Cloud Download that is not working.
