Occasionally the question comes up on computer maintenance and resolving problems.
It tends to be a chicken and a egg type question
Which should you run first Dism or sfc?
My thoughts are since sfc takes cues from dism that
Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth should run first.

Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase should
be run after a major update if only to clean up some space.

Your Thoughts?

Hello Thomas, :)

Technically, DISM really only needs to be ran if SFC is unable to repair any corrupted or modified system files.

The question still remains that would it not be better to run first
so that sfc would have less chance of not being able to repair some files ?

It's perfectly fine if you wanted to run the DISM command first, then the SFC command. It will only take a bit more time.
