Screen freezes, sound continues. No BSOD.

since a week or two I am having windows freezes whenever the system goes idle. The screen and input both freeze, but sound continues to play in the background. There is no BSOD and I need to manually reset the system by holding down the power button. The only times this seem to happen is when the screens went black and I wake my system.

The issues started after I fiddled around with overclocking my GPU. I used MSI Afterburner. I played around with clock speeds on the processor and memory until the GPU crashed at certain settings. I immediately reset those settings after rebooting. I never changed the power settings.

At first I thought this was an issue with my graphics card. I swapped the card with a different one; issue continued.
I then reinstalled windows; issue continued.
I reset my motherboard bios to default settings (just trying things at this point) and installed an older version of the GPU driver; issue continued.

When I look at the windows Event Viewer and the Reliability History, both do not show anything that (to me) seem to point at the issue.

System specs:
Main board: Asus PRIME H310I-PLUS R2.0 socket 1151
CPU : Intel Core i5 9400F processor
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER OC 6G
Memory: Corsair DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 2666 C16
Power supply: EVGA W1 500W PSU

The system is now 1 year old, all components still have waranties.

I do not know what to do next, I hope somebody here could help me further with this issue.

Thank you in advance!
