I like Jays 2 cents - sometimes - but sometimes it's as if he is purposefully playing the bumbling $%^&#$%^ just to get views.

Still, the reviews are almost always spot on, particularly with tiny little things that most people won't run into.

Filed this one to watch later - I'm still itching to build a threadripper-based machine.

I want to avoid Intel and speak with my wallet. I'm highly pissed off that they threw all of us Bloomfield users under the bus by not offering any Spectre mitigation microcode.

But I'm probably still going to stick with nVidia GPUs - I've had nothing but bad luck with both AMD GPUs and their PoC Catalyst software over the years.

My only recent AMD GPU was with this build I had back in 2013, the card arrived DOA. I had to RMA it and go into town to get an nVidia. I didn't feel like waiting on the RMA to run my system. I will stick with nVidia GPU, although with me not gaming, I probably wouldn't even need a dedicated GPU. I will cross that bridge when I get to it.

EDIT: I did have a Radeon 5750HD in my older build back in 2009 that still works today.

The reviews of the new Ryzens suggest otherwise. First the first time in a very, very long time, AMD is has got Intel in a vise grip and is not letting go.

The numbers in the reviews (and there are plenty of them out there) prove it.

Indeed - and my personal decision notwithstanding, it's good to see AMD really stepping up their game and putting out extremely competitive hardware. As Linus from LTT (one of many reviews I've read / watched) stated, it only makes sense that Intel drop their prices in order to stay competitive, and that is a big bonus for folks who want to continue to use Intel CPUs and related motherboard chipsets.
