exactly what harm does it do? Tools like that are more for experienced users so the only harm would be from user error. Dont blame the software if you dont know how to use it.
Point taken! Removing the software helped to eliminate BSODs in many situations and is the simplest approach in many cases. I agree that if you know what the software does you should be able to use it effectively, having said that some utilities use drivers that are badly written and do directly contribute to the BSOD. The problem is that many users are not aware of the changes that are applied and can end up putting their device into an unstable state. For all BSOD troubleshooting we request that people remove overclocking and run with default settings.

For all BSOD troubleshooting we request that people remove overclocking and run with default settings.
I can understand this very well. This should be at the top of the list under the posting rules thread.
