I'm using WinPE for diagnostics purpose to test the hardware before installing the OS. I've installed all the drivers in WINPE and all the other components are working fine except Camera. When I open device manager I see camera drivers are already installed in WINPE but when I try to open the camera in my App it shows a blank screen (the live image doesn't render). Although my app is fetching the hardware name etc and everything. I tried multiple other camera apps neither of them is working in WINPE, In normal OS (Windows 10) they are working.
Please help me in this issue, I'm badly stuck here. Is there any dll I need to add or What I have to do to enable the Camera?

Have you explored the video card drivers as well for this? You didn't explicitly state them so I'm asking.

Nope. I'vent added video card drivers, its using Microsoft Basic Display Adapter drivers. Does Video Drivers has something to do with Camera image rendering?

It might. Wouldn't hurt to try.

Because the signal still needs to be rendered on your monitor, and the video card is going to be involved somehow, is my thought process.

No it didn't work, I tried.
I tried to test the webcam in the browser in WINPE from webcamtests.com and there it is working absolutely fine. So I've narrow down it that it is not working in Native applications. I've tried webcamoid app as well and that one is also not working.

So the native apps need something that WinPE does not have.

Redistributable runtimes, perhaps? But if any nativbe app needs that it should automatically prompt for that, so probably not.

Or, perhaps some components from WIA, or whatever method the native apps actually use to capture input from the camera (or perhaps you could even force install TWAIN drivers, though that would be a backward step for sure, assuming the native apps could even use it).

I did a cursory search online about viewing camera output in WinPE, and found nothing. It's rare I get so few results like that. So I'm just shooting in the dark here.
