If your computer does not have a touch screen feature or you are not using the feature, then you can just disable it in Windows permanently. Disabling this feature will prevent the CTF loader from running in the background every time you use your computer.

This doesn't work as I get Access Denied Error
Disable CTFMON.EXE (CTF Loader) in Windows 10
Press Windows+R.
Type services. msc, then click OK.
Locate the Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service and right-click on it.
Click on Properties and then choose Disabled.
Click Stop then OK.

Tried MSCONFIG
It just puts the checkmark back when you click the Apply button.

My PC is a Desktop and I do NOT have a Touch screen.

So anyone know how to disable ctfmon?

Have you tried the methods in this *admittedly old* post in How-To Geek?

It gives some good ideas - such as perhaps you need to disable a certain feature / set of features in Micro$oft Office, if you have it installed, like support for Indo-European / Asian / other languages.... Because it is not just for touchscreen use.

Which, with Win10 and newer versions of Office, may also mean performing a modify of the setup and removing those entries before you can actually disable it.....

Could also be related to otehr piese of software you may have installed on your system, particularly any that has installed support for different languages.

Thanks, but none of these work.

Hi TairikuOkami,

This worked. Thank You.
I've always disable ctfmon in XP, Windows 7, but Windows 10 couldn't do it.

Cool. I'll have to test with the language things on and see if the fix remains in place with Office, especially after an update.

Thanks for the heads up.
